"Talent voor Taal" (Talent for Language) is a Dutch, national writing competition for teenagers, held every year since 2012. The goal is to write a story of around 600 words, revolving a certain theme. I participated in the first edition of this writing competition, and against all my expectations, my story "De Eilander" (The Islander) for the theme "nothing is what it seems" was chosen as winner, out of over 1600 participants.
